Stockport Harriers' junior section went over to Sportcity to compete in a 2.5 kilometre road race promoted by East Manchester Harriers on Sunday morning.
The race was for all age groups up to under-15 year old athletes.
From the start the Harrier Richard Hindley took the lead and was not passed, winning the race in 8 minutes and 30 seconds.
He was followed home by Max Cole, 4th in 9-10 and Daniel Lawton, a very close 5th in 9-11. They were backed up by a great run from Connor McKeown.
Racing against athletes as old as 15, it was a good team showing for the under-9 and 11 boys' team who took all the honours in their age group.
First girl home for Stockport was Amber Whewell in 6th place followed by Ciara Hindley and Carla Atkin but on the day the team could not match winners East Cheshire Harriers.
Cheshire Multi-Event Championships

Hannah Wilkins, Hannah Coulson and Aimee Aikin after a hard earned second place in the Cheshire Junior Multi-Event Championships
The Stockport girls' under-11 team went over to Macclesfield last Sunday to compete in the Cheshire Multi-Event Championships. They had to compete in four events in just over a couple of hours; long-jump, 100 metres, soft javelin and 800 metres.
The girls pulled out some great performances in all the events but it came down to the 800 metres to show how well the girls have improved this year.
In Heat 1 Hannah Coulson had a great race with Emma Johnson of West Cheshire to just miss out by 1 second to take that heat and also the overall 3rd position, in Heat 2 Hannah Wilkins took the lead from the gun and was never passed to finish first while Aimee Aikin started slow in her first 800 metres and came though strongly to finish fourth.
The team finish second just behind West Cheshire. Also in the under-15s event Georgina Wilkins took to the multi events for the first time having a very busy day doing five events; 75 metre hurdles, shot, long-jump, high-jump and 800 metres, finishing in 12th place.
